Refreshing New Rich Media Software Suite Includes Support for User-Generated Content, SSL and Enhanced Interactivity, Giving Mobile Operators and End-Users “the Ultimate Mobile Experience”

Streamezzo, the leading provider of rich media software solutions and platforms for mobile communications, today announced the release of JAZZ – the latest version of its Rich Media software suite.  The new software release includes new features and enhancements to the three main components of the suite: the Rich Media Server, the Rich Media Client, and Workbench – the Rich Media application development environment.

Among the new features available with JAZZ, Streamezzo introduces full support for mobile User Generated Content (UGC) applications.  Mobile users can now capture personal content, such as photos or videos taken from their mobile camera, directly within Streamezzo’s Rich Media UGC application.  The content can then be automatically uploaded via the UGC application to any Internet content sharing server.  Content uploading, typically a cumbersome and error-prone process, is intuitive and seamless with JAZZ.

“Web destinations like MySpace and YouTube make heavy use of user-generated content and are incredibly popular with our younger generations, and mobile phones are also wildly popular with this audience, so we felt that intuitive support for user-generated content must be a key priority in developing JAZZ,” said Pierre-Emmanuel Struyven, CMO for Streamezzo.  “UGC is straightforward to handle on a PC, but tends to be complex and time-consuming in our new wireless world, so we’re confident that mobile users will be pleased with how simple and intuitive UGC has become with JAZZ.”

Another key JAZZ innovation is the support for encrypted connections using HTTPS (HTTP protocol over Secure Socket Layer).  As a fundamental requirement of m-commerce and many business transactions, this unique feature paves the way for a wealth of new mobile applications beyond infotainment, such as mobile banking and secure business interactions.

Other key new features and capabilities of Streamezzo’s JAZZ release include:

- New “push” capabilities that can wake up dormant applications, such as stock quotes or presence-based services, to refresh content
- Detailed reports and statistics regarding service usage and user profiles (available in both online and offline mode)
- The ability to manage personal contacts and schedules via direct access to the device's phonebook and calendar
- Enhanced text content presentation with user-friendly new scrolling features
- Support for new video codecs
- Intuitive screen orientation (landscape/portrait) management and detection capabilities

Streamezzo’s new JAZZ software suite is available in mid-November.
