ReVolt Technology and Phonak AG to Develop Rechargeable Zinc-air Battery Technology for Hearing Aids

Cooperation will contribute to environmental cause and improve lives of the hearing impaired

Staefa, Switzerland. May16, 2007 ReVolt Technology and Phonak AG have signed a development contract to design and develop a new generation of rechargeable Zinc- air batteries for hearing aids. The scope of the agreement will include development and supply of prototype batteries based on ReVolt’s revolutionary rechargeable Zinc-air battery technology.
The use of rechargeable batteries will help the users and especially the older generation by not having to replace the batteries every week, and contribute to the environmental cause. Initially ReVolt will develop one type of battery at their R&D center in Staefa. A number of other projects will follow soon. Further more Phonak and ReVolt agreed to collaborate on design and development of batteries for next generation of innovative hearing aids.
