Esmertec to Integrate Hybrid’s OpenGL ES based Graphics Solutions into its Jbed Solution

Helsinki, Finland and Duebendorf-Zurich, Switzerland – December 9, 2004 – Esmertec™ and Hybrid Graphics Ltd. (www.hybrid.fi) announce today their partnership, according to which Esmertec will integrate Hybrid’s implementation of the Mobile 3D Graphics API for J2ME™ (M3G) to its Jbed™ platform

M3G, otherwise known as JSR184, brings advanced 3D graphics capabilities to mobile Java™ software, and this allows the development of even more compelling games and entertainment content for Java enabled phones. In addition to M3G, the partnership also covers Hybrid’s upcoming implementation of OpenVG, a Scalable Vector Graphics API for 2D graphics, and their Java Bindings for OpenGL® ES.

“The partnership with a leading graphics developer like Hybrid will enable Esmertec to extend our feature offerings and to deliver to our customers the ability to develop captivating content,” said Anne-Marie Larkin, Esmertec’s CTO. “M3G will significantly increase the appeal of Java games, map visualizations, user interfaces and animated messages.”
