24/07/2007

IRVINE, Calif., July 24, 2007—CoreValve announced today that it is included in Red Herring magazine’s list of the top-100 North American companies, a selection of 100 privately held companies headquartered in North America that play a leading role in innovating the business of technology.

Red Herring’s lists of private companies are an important part of the magazine’s tradition of identifying new and innovative technology firms and entrepreneurs. Companies such as Google and eBay were identified in their early days by Red Herring editors as businesses that would change the way we live and work.

“We are certainly pleased by this very significant recognition of the Company’s vision for heart valve therapies,” said Jacques Séguin, M.D., Ph.D., Chairman, CEO and Founder of CoreValve.

About CoreValve
Founded in 2001, privately held CoreValve—which is headquartered in Irvine, California—has developed a proprietary delivery system and tissue heart valve for percutaneous heart valve replacement. Based on a novel catheter-and-self-expanding-frame approach on a beating heart, the proprietary CoreValve ReValving™ System procedure is intended to avoid open-heart surgery. It can be performed in a cardiac “cath lab” just like angioplasty and stenting, which may result in less trauma to the patient and may offer substantial cost-savings to the healthcare system.
(Caution: the CoreValve ReValving™ System will not be available in the USA for clinical trials or for commercialization until further notice.)
